High Plains Food Bank Ride-a-Long

The High Plains food bank delivers food to agencies throughout the Panhandle.

Donations are at the lowest they have been in five years, and Tyson foods fought that by making a large donation on Tuesday.

NewsChannel 10 wanted to see first hand what goes on during a delivery.

There was a very large load the day of the ride-a-long that needed to go out to five different area towns.  In fact, they had to send out two trucks just to get everything delivered.  Newschannel 10 hopped on for a ride to Clarendon.

Recipients were grateful and driver Ben De Los Santos told us, "It's almost like we're heroes."

The Food Bank needs donations, and their monthly output is down 20% from last year during these summer months because of the lack of food.
