IRS Scam Warning

Officials are sending out a warning to computers users to be on the lookout for phony emails claiming to be from the IRS.

The scam works by stating that you are under tax investigation. Once you click on the link provided in the fake email, scammers gain access to your computer.

The IRS does not send out unsolicited emails and does not ask for personal information. If you recieve one, you are asked to forward the email to phishing@irs.gov immediately.
