FEMA Sums Up Damage

One week later and clean-up is continuing in Cactus and Tulia.

FEMA has traveled door-to-door in Cactus to assess the damage.  Officials reported their findings to Washington late Friday and funding may soon come to the area.

FEMA tells NewsChannel 10 that thirty-eight homes were destroyed in Cactus and fifty-four suffered major damage, while 109 mobile homes are considered a total loss.

Tulia may also receive federal funds soon.  Inspectors there say eight homes and seven mobile homes are classified as destroyed, two mobile homes are majorly damaged and twenty-seven businesses are considered a total loss, nine majorly damaged.
