Pantex Strike

About 500 security guards from Pantex went on strike early Monday morning.  Their union president , Robert Lynch, says they voted Sunday night to reject the company's final offer on a labor agreement.

Lynch says workers are concerned about their benefits, medical packages, pension programs, retaining seniority rights, among other things. Lynch says they hope a federal mediator will be on hand soon to help them resolve issues.

Pantex Officials say while the security guards are on strike they will bring in other people to maintain a high level of security.   BWXT Pantex manages and operates the Pantex plant for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration.
