A man in an oil field trailer died after a tornado passed through southern Hemphill County, bringing the death toll from last night's storms to three.

Hemphill County Sheriff confirmed the man died from injures sustained from the storm. Other fatalities include a couple in Beaver County, Oklahoma who died after what forecasters believe was a tornado hit their home.

The storms brought an onslaught of hail, rain and high winds, and spawned more than 60 tornadoes throughout the area. One driver says tornadic winds literally blew the trucks off the Interstate. It happened just East of Highway 70 between Groom and McLean after 7pm. Widespread power outages due to lightning affected several areas including McLean and Northeast Amarillo.
