Suspected Kidnapper in Amarillo

A woman's car was stolen today with her baby inside.  Now the hunt is on in Amarillo for a suspected kidnapper.

Police tell NewsChannel 10 that the woman stopped at the car wash in the 1700 block of Western St.  According to officer that's when someone took off in her car with her fifteen-month-old inside.

An Amber Alert was issued.  Fortunately, the baby was found a short time later at Frank's Bakery at Western St. and Wolflin.  Someone brought the baby into the store after he was apparently found.  The baby is not hurt.

However, the person behind the crime is still missing.  Police say they are looking for a 2002 Silver Saab.  If you have information that could help call Amarillo Crimestoppers at 374-4400.

Construction is underway on Canyon's new aquatic park, which is still on schedule to open to the public on June 1st. The aquatic park is just a bunch of holes in the ground right now. But when the slides go up (by April 10th), people will start to see how close the project is to completion.
