LOGAN, N.M. A series of storms, producing at least 13 tornadoes, destroyed buildings and injured at least a dozen people, several critically, in eastern New Mexico.
State police say the worst damage from yesterday's storms was reported in Logan and Clovis.
Clovis police Lieutenant James Schoeffel says streets there were flooded, power lines were down and several buildings were damaged.
Thirteen people from that area were hospitalized at the Plains Regional Medical Center with injuries. Liz Crouch -- the center's chief operating officer -- says five were in critical condition with head trauma.
In Logan, state police say three people were taken to a hospital in nearby Tucumcari, while others were treated at a local clinic.
