A family re-unites today after their newborn was stolen from a hospital this weekend.
Baby Mycheal Darthard-Dowodu was taken early Saturday morning from Lubbock Covenant.
She was found a day later in Clovis and a suspect was arrested.
The family shared their thanks today in Lubbock.
For the Dartard-Dowodu family, almost twenty fours without their baby is indescribable.
Today, the grandfather spoke for the family, since the parents were still very shaken by the experience.
As baby Mycheal slept peacefully in her mother's arms, her grandfather gave thanks to all those who helped find her.
"We would like to honor the amber alert program, Lubbock police department, Clovis police department, FBI, Covenant Crisis Management Team, and all of us who helped with the investigation," says Darrell Darthard, the grandfather of Mychael.
The grandfather only spoke for a few minutes before leaving to spend some quality time with the new addition to their family. 21-year-old Rayshaun Parson of Clovis is suspected of snatching the baby from Lubbock.
She and the baby were found in clovis late Saturday night.
She pleaded guilty today to the New Mexico charge of fugitive from justice and waived her extradition rights in a Curry County court.
We spoke with the Lubbock police department and they tell us Parson is on her way there and will be arraigned tomorrow morning.
