Amber Alert Canceled! Infant Found!

The Amber Alert out of Lubbock is canceled! 4-day-old Mychael Darthard-Dawodu was found in Clovis overnight. She is being cared for at a Clovis hospital at this hour. A female suspect is in custody in Curry County in connection with the kidnapping. No charges have been filed. Lubbock police are working to extradite the suspect back to Lubbock.

Clovis police say they received a tip Saturday that led them to a residence where they found the infant. They say suspect was found nearby the residence, but not with the baby.

The infant had been kidnapped by a woman posing as a medical worker around 1:00 Saturday morning from Covenant Lakeside Hospital in Lubbock.
Hospital officials say the abductor went into the mothers room several times before taking the baby.
The suspect told the mother the infant needed treatment.
Hospital surveillance video shows a woman holding a purse as she walks through the lobby, then out the door.
she reportedly was carrying the 5-pound baby in her purse or jacket.
