Deadly weapons are discovered in an Amarillo high school student's car not far from campus...

A student tip led police to a car parked near the school that allegedly had a shot gun, ammunition and other weapons inside.

The car belonged to 17 year old Terrell Slocum who was arrested for unlawfully carrying weapons within 300 ft of a weapon free zone.

Police say this could have been a dangerous situation.
Slocum faces up to a year in jail  and a 4-thousand dollar fine. He can also be punished by the school district.
