More Delays for 9th Street Hole

Construction on Southwest 9th Avenue is expected to be completed in March, but Mother Nature may have another plan.

The road was been closed for more than five months after flooding last August caused the road to collapse.

The project was awarded to Holmes Construction in December and is scheduled to take 65-working days, but so far, weather has only allowed 29 days of actual work.

City officials say they hope to open the road sometime in March, but with more winter weather in the forecast that completion date may be pushed back.
