Deadly Sunday on Area Roads

Sunday was deadly with a number of accidents on area roads.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says a Missouri woman died when she lost control of her pick-up on a patch of ice on I-40 near Shamrock.

21 Year Old Paula Danielle Evans was thrown from the pick-up after it rolled twice.

She did not have on a seatbelt, and died at the scene.


A Gruver man died in an accident near Hardesty Sunday Afternoon on US 412 in Texas County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says his pick-up hit a guardrail headed west, went into a slide, and then hit the other guardrail.

The accident threw 37 Year Old Clarence Henley out of the passenger side window.

The pick-up rolled one and a half times.

Henley died at the scene.


In Beaver County, a Liberal man died on US 83, 8 1/2 miles north of Turpin.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 28 Year Old Victor Mendoza lost control on a curve in the fog.

His vehicle went airborne for 40 feet before it hit a deep embankment.

Police didn't find it until almost 5 hours after the accident.
