New Requirements May Restrict Some Spring Breakers

Some college students are already thinking ahead to spring break... but this year a new law may keep them closer to home.

That's because anyone leaving the country by air now must have a passport.  The new law stems from recommendations from the 911 Commission and took effect on  Tuesday.

We asked students if that change will alter spring break plans. Jamie Rios says the rule did cause him to change his plans, "...I was planning on going to Acapulco but since the passport rule came out, I'm going to drive to a border town now instead of going to Acapulco like I wanted to."

Right now, you are not required to have a passport if you're traveling by land or sea...But that could be required by the beginning of 2008.
