Aftermath of a Child Abducted

The kidnapping of the 10-year-old shook the entire community of Texhoma.

After word got out an army of officers swarmed the scene to piece together the disappearance of the fourth grader.

NewsChannel 10's Blaire Arvin was in the town all day getting answers from authorities.

Tonight, she shows us how they worked to get to the bottom of this crime.

A bicycle rests alone.

Crime tape surrounding it.

This was the scene all day in this tight knit community...

The aftermath of a child abducted.

"Her and some other children were gonna meet and go door to door to raise funds for a Red Cross project and she never showed up at that location," says Arnold Peoples, Texas County Sheriff.

Marissa Graham-- snatched from her bike 6:30 Thursday evening...

Snatched from her very own neighborhood.

"We simply have a witness who saw the little girl talking to a white male at the drivers side window, left the area and came back, the little girl was nowhere to be seen," he says.

Just before midnight, an Amber Alert was activated.

The FBI, a handful of area law enforcement agencies, prison bloodhounds as well as community members all canvassed the town...

Knocking on doors...

Even taking to the skies...

Eyeing for any sign of the 10-year-old.

She wasn't found here.

But their efforts didn't go unnoticed.

"We'd like to thank the FBI, state police, local authorities... she is safe and we're thankful for that," says Peoples.

Thankful, they all can rest a little easier tonight, knowing this story has a happy ending.
