Amarillo Symphony, Conductor Search Continues

He's last but certainly not least, the final person who could become the new conductor of The Amarillo Symphony. Joel Smirnoff is one of four finalists out of 200 people who applied.  Smirnoff is from New York and comes from a family full of music.  He plays violin, teaches at Juilliard, and has worked with many great orchestras all over the world. You can watch and listen to Smirnoff and the Amarillo Symphony Friday January 19th and Saturday January 20th at 8:00p.m. at the Globe News Center for the Performing Arts.  Tickets start at $16 Bucks and go up from there.  For more ticket information you can call 376-8782 or 655-2181.

Officials with the symphony should make a final decision by the end of February on who the new conductor will be.
