Nearly three hours later he was pronounced dead. This evening the boy's mother, Teresa Gilman, is charged with first degree murder and four counts of child abuse . She is currently in the Roosevelt County Detention Center. Gilman has three other children.

The boy was pronounced dead at Roosevelt General Hospital after noon on Thursday...a 9-1-1 call was made two hours earlier by a relative at the boy's home.

Tonight we are told the mother is in the Roosevelt County Detention Center, she was taken into custody Thursday evening on charges of possession of drug paraphenalia.

Bridget Gallegos is a neighbor of the boy's family. She added "Whether it happens in your own hometown or just your neighborhood it's shocking... I never hear loud noises or screams or anything like that, nothing at all suspicious that I have noticed".

The mother's three other children are in the custody of the Children, Youth and Families Department of New Mexico.

District Attorney Matt Chandler says the autopsy on the boy's body is now finished, and Newschannel10 will bring you those findings as soon as they become available.
