Another winter storm is headed our way...rain is expected to change to snow sometime tonight.

That snow fall is expected to get heavy tonight through tomorrow.

Most areas of the panhandle will see several inches of accumulation by tommorow.

Already some area roads have been closed and their have been cancellations and delays at Rick Husband Airport several flights to Houston and Dallas were cancelled this afternoon.

And at the Greyhound Bus Service. officials tell us, buses are not going north or west.

The City of Amarillo has cancelled Municipal Bus Service for Saturday.

I-40 is closed West of Amarillo all the way to Albuquerque. Heavy snowfall from this major winter storm is causing dangerous driving conditions.

There are other roads closed in our area:

U.S. 6487 from Clayton to Raton

U.S. 56 between Clayton and Springer

U.S. 287 from Boise City into Colorado

Highway 287/87 North out of Dalhart

Tx-DOT closed I-40 through the New Mexico state line at the request of the New Mexico Highway Patrol, because they didn't want people driving west, only to get caught in the weather, and have to turn around, or worse, get stuck.

We heard I-40 could be closed for the next 24-36 hours, depending on the weather.
