Helping the Homeless

The holidays are a time of family, but what about those that will spend these holidays on the streets...

Adult Protective Services held a press conference today to address the issue of the homeless in our community, and to raise awareness as to what the community can do.

Jim Womack wants people to be aware of services they can offer to the homeless population.
"We also have a program called the Path Program, which actually find homeless people that might need services and they link them to all the services they need, not nessecerely mental health services, but maybe housing, medical issues that type of thing."

It is estimated that there are 150,000 homeless people in Texas alone, shelters in the area are asking for volunteers, and members of the community to help out in any way they can this holiday season.
