Appeal Denied for Cactus Cop

The Court of Appeals has denied an appeal for a former Cactus police officer convicted of indecency with a child.

Robert Sharp was convicted of the charges in May of last year and was given a 20 year sentence.

Sharp's attorney's filed the appeal stating the prosecution had made errors in the case.

The 7th Court of Appeals found no errors and now says the original sentence of 20 years will stand.

Sharp is also currently serving a ten year sentence for manslaughter for the shaking death of his 3 month old son.

The victim in the indecency case is not related to Sharp.

The two sentences will run back to back.
