Seven grass fires broke out north of Amarillo today.
The blazes sparked near the Canadian River Bridge along Highway 287 a little after two.
NewsChannel 10 was there as nearly two dozen Potter County firefighters worked to tame the flames.
It took firefighters about two hours to put them out.
The assistant fire chief tells us theses fires serve as a reminder to us all.
"The conditions are starting to be dry and people need to be careful back in area... similar to what we did last year," says Pat Fitzpatric.
Crews say a vehicle with a mechanical problem may be to blame for the fires.
