Some Dumas and Cactus families reeling from Tuesday's raids are finding relief within church walls.
Volunteers like Orlando Gajardo at Saint Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Dumas are providing food, clothing, baby supplies and even rides to relatives of suspected illegal workers now in federal custody. "When they come here they do stay here, they tend to stay here a couple of hours, they feel a sense of security, they come and try on jackets that we have. A lot of the babies that we've been dealing have also been getting basic medical attention."
Volunteers tell us at least 150 people sought support inside their parish hall today.
