New information on the pilot flying the Cannon Air Force Base F-16 that went down in Iraq nearly a week ago.
It has now been confirmed 34-year-old Major Troy Gilbert was killed in action.
According to the U.S. Air Force, an Armed Forces medical examiner made the DNA match on Saturday from some of the remains recovered at the crash site.
Major Gilbert was flying a F-16 jet from Cannon Air Force base last Monday when it crashed near Baghdad while supporting ground troops.
At this time, the U.S. Military is still trying to locate Gilbert's body.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but officials believe the F-16 was not shot
