Clarendon Firebelles Make Holiday Bright

The Clarendon Firebelles are hoping you can help make the holidays brighter for needy families.
The group of eighteen women have been a support group for the Clarendon fire department since 1982, bringing water, food and supplies to the volunteer firemen on the front lines.
Two years ago they started another mission, collecting donations of toys and money during the holiday season.

Annette Osburn has been with the Firebelles since their inception and told Newschannel10's Tina Berasley "A few years ago one of the businesses in Clarendon did it and then they quit and that left nobody to do it so we thought we needed to pick up the slack so that's what we did. Its fun to see how the parents appreciate it because they really do. It gives their kids something that they might not have had otherwise".

If you want to help the firebelles give gifts to nearly one hundred children in Donley County this holiday you can send a monetary donation to Clarendon Firebelles, c/o Rhonda Aveni, P.O. Box 1064 Clarendon, TX 79226.

If you'd like to donate a new, unwrapped toy for children up to age 15 please drop it off at Shepard's Crook Home Health Care Agency in Clarendon, at the intersection of Highway 287 and 70 South. The Firebelles are in desperate need of toys for young boys at this time.
