Complex 2030 Explained

In a move to decrease the nation's supply of nuclear weapons by 2012, the National Nuclear Security Agency has begun a plan called Complex 2030.

The plan includes dismantling of retired warheads, consolidating nuclear materials, creating a consolidated plutonium center, and making business practices more uniform.

Amarillo's Pantex, as the nation's only assembly and dis-assembly nuclear weapons plant is at the center of this plan. 
 
The name indicates the year the agency hopes to have the plan completed.
