Walt is the Managing Editor and anchors the five, six, and ten newscasts each Monday through Friday. In fact, Walt has been anchoring the evening news longer than anyone in Amarillo television news history.
He was recently honored for his contributions to local news by being inducted into the Texas Panhandle Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2006. He was also the first newsman honored as the TPAB Broadcaster of the Year in 2002.
Walt has traveled the world covering news important to the panhandle region. Among his favorite stories are trips to the Persian Gulf with a squadron from Cannon Air Force Base and his documentary on a local World War II veteran who returned to France to find the people who helped him escape after he was shot down during the D-Day invasion.
Walt enjoys time around his pond and a good game of bocce.
He and his wife, Terry, have two grown sons.
