AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Texas Association of Realtors have reported Amarillo's home sales for the second quarter of 2018.
The report shows Amarillo home sales were up but prices were down.
Amarillo home sales went up by 7.1 percent to 962 single-family home sales and median prices decreased by 3.8 percent to $163,500.
Statewide in Texas, the number of homes and their median prices continued to rise during the second quarter of 2018.
Chief economist with the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University Jim Gaines said, "The demand for housing remains at an all-time high, but statewide we're seeing a slower rate of increase in sales compared to previous quarters due to the lack of inventory of properties for sale."
