AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Budweiser Distributing in Amarillo takes advantage of the Xcel Energy LED lighting rebate program to improve the facility's lighting.
Switching to LED tube lighting is said to reduce annual electricity usage by more than 250,000 kilowatts per hour.
Steve Williams, operations manager for Budweiser, says the switch comes with many other benefits.
"We are dropping our electrical bill by almost a third of what it was this time last year," said Williams. "The lighting has also improved the efficiencies and accuracy of the warehouse, proving to be a savings in lost sales due to misloads."
By lowering bills, improving working conditions and contributing to the company's stewardship goals, the Budweiser LED project is said to be a far more efficient use of energy.
