One man will spend the rest of his life in prison after he was found guilty of committing a crime spree.
In January of 2017, Jacob Edgar shot a man five times near the 300 block of North Bryan. The victim was paralyzed.
Edgar then broke into a home on the 2300 block of Northwest 11th Avenue where he assaulted a woman at gunpoint. The woman fought back, forcing Edgar out of the home.
He then broke into another home across the street and assaulted a woman at gunpoint. From there, he broke into a third house and barricaded himself inside of a child's bedroom.
On August 8, Edgar was found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary of a habitation intending other felony.
The jury sentenced Edgar to life in prison for the shooting, 99 years in prison for the burglary, 99 years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and 20 years in prison for the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
