CURRY COUNTY, N.M. (KFDA) - An investigation is ongoing after one person was fatally shot at a dairy farm in Curry County Thursday afternoon.
Deputies arrived at the dairy located at 97 New Mexico State Road 77 around 1:30 p.m. after reports someone was shooting at employees.
Officers found 23-year-old Mairon Franco Rodriguez dead inside a milking barn.
Rodriguez was an employee of the dairy farm and had been shot multiple times.
Police arrested Jose Leonidas Flores Espana and charged him with an open count of murder. He is also being held as a fugitive from the justice for charges pending in California.
He was booked into the Curry County Detention Center and is being held without bond.
