AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The union representing workers at an Amarillo plant that makes parts for wind turbine towers said GRI Texas Towers has cut off labor negotiations.
A news release says GRI stopped negotiations today. This would end the current contract and would no longer recognize the union as representing employees at the plant in east Amarillo.
No one with the firm responded to a request for comment.
The union said the company is violating federal labor laws with these actions.
The Spanish company completed the $41 million facility in 2016 at the Amarillo Economic Development business park on Lakeside Drive.
The company planned to employ more than 300 welders, machinists and other production workers.
