Ute Park, NM - The Ute Park fire in New Mexico is now 92 percent contained.
Officials say smoke and flames will continue to be visible over the next few weeks until the area receives a significant amount of rain. Islands of unburned vegetation within the containment lines will continue to burn, but this is not a threat to the fire perimeter.
No homes have burned in the fire, but 14 outbuildings burned on the Philmont Scout Ranch on May 31.
US 64 between mile marker 287 and Eagle Nest to mile marker 309 is open. Delays may continue in the coming weeks as road crews work to prevent rolling and flooding debris from reaching the road. You can find current road conditions here.
Cimarron Canyon State Park will remain closed until at least July 8. You can find updates on the park's closure here.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
