EVANS, GA (WFXG) -

Operation Kidsafe hopes to help your children and your family in the event of an emergency with a free child safety event.

The purpose of the event is to give parents a background record of their children, so parents may have all the valuable information they need, at the ready, to hand over to law enforcement in the event of an emergency, such as a missing child.

Kidsafe says they’re bringing in a finger print scanner for the event, to create the records. The organizations said the information will not be stored, and the only copy of the record will be given to parents.

The event also aims to help families create action plans in the event of various emergencies.

Operation Kidsafe is set for Saturday, June 16 from 9a.m. to 3p.m. at Street and Trail Motorsports Yamaha, located at 4277 Washington Road in Evans, GA 30809.
