1 arrested after SWAT called to domestic violence dispute in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -

A man is behind bars after Amarillo SWAT officers responded to a domestic violence dispute on Friday.

Authorities were called to the 3600 block of south Western Street around 5:38 p.m. on Friday.

Upon arriving, police attempted to contact a suspect in a domestic violence situation on the premises.

Police also received information that the suspect was possibly armed.

The APD SWAT team was called in as support.

Negotiators at the scene determined that the suspect wasn't home, and contacted him by phone.

The suspect returned to the scene for questioning.

Braden Harley Beard, 18, was booked into the Randall Count Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, continuous violence against the family and prohibited weapons charges.
