AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Free lunches will be available to all Amarillo children throughout the summer.
Beginning Wednesday, May 30, meals will be provided to any child under 18 as part of the 2018 Summer Lunch program.
The program is provided by the City of Amarillo and funded through a grant by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
The stated mission of the program is to meet the needs to children who qualify for free and reduced lunches during the school year.
However, children do not need to qualify for free or reduced lunches to receive a free meal through the Summer Lunch program.
Those interested in the program can visit the City of Amarillo website to find serving times and locations or call 211 or text FOODTX to 877-877.
Meals will be served at 60 sites throughout the city, including schools, parks and community center.
