AAM&W hosting meetings to discuss proposed ordinance changes

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare is hosting a series of information public meetings to discuss proposed ordinance changes.

The changes include changing the stray hold from three to two days, enhancing enforcement capabilities, breeder's licenses, spay and neuter fund establishment, mandatory spay and neuters, notifications of impounded tagged animals and intact dogs and cats at large.

The five meetings will be held at the following times and places:

  • Wednesday, May 23: 
    • From 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
    • At the North Branch Library located at 1500 Northeast 24th Avenue
  • Thursday, May 24: 
    • From 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
    • At the East Branch Library located at 2232 East 27th Avenue
  • Wednesday, May 30,
    • From 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
    • At the Northwest Branch Library located at 6100 West 9th Avenue
  • Thursday, May 31
    • From 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
    • At the Southwest Branch Library located at 6801 West 45th Avenue
  • Wednesday, June 6
    • From 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
    • At the Downtown Branch Library located at 413 East 4th Avenue
