AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Garden at High Plains Food Bank is expanding, courtesy of two Amarillo donors.
The organization received funds from both the Amarillo Cargill plant and the Amarillo Downtown Kiawanis Club to build a new volunteer center at its garden project.
The center will provide a space for training volunteers, as well as providing storage and post-service cleanup facilities.
Various classes, workshops and field trips will also be hosted within the center.
HPFB will showcase sustainable practices throughout the building, such as edible landscaping and rainwater collection.
