New program called "certification in cybercrime" coming to AU in Fall of 2018

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A new cybersecurity program will be coming to Augusta University in the fall called "certification in cybercrime."

Professors told FOX 54 it will prepare students for careers in cybercrime investigation, law enforcement, data security, and technology.
With the growing cybersecurity field around the country and in the world, one professor tells us it was only a matter of time before AU offered this track.

It's important now because we live in a society that is so connected particularly here in North America that in order to understand our place in society, we have to understand how technology in a sense rules our lives and how we can protect ourselves becoming a victim of crime," says Dr. Candace Griffith.

This 18 credit program will be available to all undergrad students.
