AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Armstrong County Fire and Rescue will be receiving a helping hand from the Amarillo Area Foundation.
The organization's Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund will be disbursing $5000 to the volunteer fire department to assist with efforts in fighting the Mallard Fire, which has burned since May 8.
The funds will be used to provide the responders on the scene of the fire with necessary supplies, such as food, sunscreen, lip balm, baby powder and other necessities.
Further donations to the fund can be made at the Amarillo Area Foundation's website.
Donors from all over the Panhandle, as well as outside of it, provided the funding necessary for the grant.
