Power restored to Fritch residents

FRITCH, TX (KFDA) -

Power has been restored to Fritch residents, and officials are reporting that water is safe to consume.

Around 8:00 a.m., City of Fritch officials reported that power was out throughout town. 

Xcel Energy found that the source of the power outage was two power poles that had gone down.

Power was restored around 9:00 a.m.

Sanford-Fritch ISD canceled all classes for the day.  STAAR tests have been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 16.

Crews were able to test the water in multiple locations, and the tests showed that water is safe to consume.
