HANSFORD COUNTY, TX (KFDA) - The body that was found in Hansford County on Tuesday has been identified as an Oklahoma man who went missing from Sherman County in October.
Officials say the body that was found at a ranch in the western part of Hansford County has been identified as 28-year-old Arturo Varela.
Varela was last seen on October 22 when he allegedly jumped out of his car and ran into a corn field in Sherman County.
Helicopters and canines searched for him, but he was not found.
On Tuesday, the Hansford County Sheriff's Office was notified that a dead person was found.
The body was sent to Lubbock for an autopsy, where they identified him as Varela.
The cause of death is still pending toxicology reports.
