The Domino's restaurants in Portales, Clovis and Cannon Air Force Base united on April 23 to raise money for the medical expenses of Portales resident Gaston Barnett. All proceeds from the day's sales at all three restaurants would be donated to Barnett.

The Air Force veteran and Air National Guard member was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

On Tuesday, the Portales Domino's presented Barnett and his mother, Louella Bourbeaux, with a check for $1,530.

Domino's says the local fundraising event was a part of "Have a Heart Day."
