One of the largest employers in Amarillo, TTUHSC currently has a $166 million impact on the city's economy each year. With the addition of the veterinary school, that number jumps to $242 million.

This addition will make TTUHSC Amarillo's eighth largest employer with more than 900 employees.

The new school will not only be an economic driver much like Bell Helicopter, but the school will also partner with local veterinarians for clinical teaching as well as support the local livestock industry.

Classes are expected to start in the Fall of 2021.
