CLOVIS, N.M. (KFDA) - A Clovis resident is behind bars after a Sunday morning stabbing sent one man to the hospital.
Around 10:50 a.m., Clovis police responded to a report of a stabbing on the 1600 block of Nichols Avenue.
When they arrived at the scene, the 41 year-old victim said he had been stabbed in the neck by his 18-year-old nephew, Corey Dixon, after a conversation turned angry.
The victim was taken to the Plains Regional Medical Center to be treated for his wounds.
The Special Operations Unit of the Clovis Police Department investigated the incident and found Dixon around 11:37 a.m.
Dixon was transported to the Clovis Police Department, where he was arrested for two counts of aggravated battery.
He was booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center to await trial.
