Amarillo police investigating Sunday afternoon robberies

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo police are investigating two robberies that happened Sunday afternoon.

Around 4:00 p.m., officers were called to Boost Mobile at the 3100 block of South Western Street for an armed robbery.

Police say the man entered the store and pointed a gun at the clerk. He then demanded money and fled the scene.

Around 30 minutes later, police were called to a robbery at Metro PCS at the 1400 block of North Grand Street.

In both robberies, the suspect is described as a man who is around 5-foot-7 with a small build. Police say he was wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt, black skinny jeans, a black ball cap and sunglasses.
