AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - This weekend, certain emergency supply products will have no sales tax.
This is due to the emergency preparation supplies sales tax holiday throughout Texas.
Our very own Doppler Dave said the tax holiday is a great opportunity to stock up.
"When it comes time to being prepared, this is it!" said Dave. "I mean, we are right on the verge of tornado season. People need to have every means possible to get what they need to keep them safe."
There is no limit on the number of qualifying items you can buy.
Doppler Dave said it may be a good idea to stock up before severe weather season begins.
"I would say you need the biggest arsenal you can for storm season," said Dave. "That does includes weather radios, batteries, emergency generators. We lose power a lot because of severe weather, even storm shelters and stuff like that. This is the time to act."
