JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) -

On Wednesday afternoon, Jacksonville police searched for a suspect wanted by several departments after receiving an anonymous tip.

Police tell KLTV media partner Jacksonville Daily Progress that they received an anonymous tip about a wanted felon, Drashaydrian Montell Hunter, 26, also known as "Stinky Butt."  The caller said Hunter was walking around the area of Lincoln Park. The caller also said he was wearing a black hoodie and black jeans.

Jacksonville police responded and saw Hunter, who immediately fled on foot into a wooded area between Greely and Grant Streets, the Progress reports. Police set up a perimeter and brought in K9 units, as well as a DPS helicopter. They were not able to locate Hunter, however.

Hunter is the same suspect who was a carjacking suspect, taken into custody in November. He initially gave Van police his brother's name instead of his own. He was suffering injuries from a suspected car wreck when he was found in that incident, so he was taken to a Tyler hospital.  When a Van police officer was transporting him from the hospital to a jail, he jumped from a wheelchair and escaped from custody.

“He handcuffed him in the front, the officer got distracted for a second, and the person jumped up and ran from emergency room back toward South Baxter,” said Van Police Chief John Brown at the time. “The officer may have been sorting through all those things that happened in his mind, so it's easy to get distracted."

A search ensued at that time, as well, but officials were unable to locate Hunter.

Hunter is wanted on warrants out of Jacksonville Police Department, as well as Van Zan County and Smith County Sheriff's Offices. If you know where Hunter is located, call Crimestoppers at 903-586-7867 to leave an anonymous tip. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
