AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo College is partnering with Homeland Security this month for the "Stop, Think, Connect" campaign.
The campaign promotes safe online behavior and practices. As a partner, Amarillo College will have access to cyber-security tips to share with students and staff, as well as Homeland Security resources and tools.
"We want to take a proactive role in promoting cyber-security," said Instructor of CIS and Chief Proponent of the alliance at AC Christopher George. "I believe that by joining this federal initiative we will realize benefits for our students, our institution and our community."
For their part in National Cyber Security Awareness Month, students at Amarillo College will focus on the following themes:
- October 9-13: Cyber-security in the Workplace is Everyone's Business
- October 16-20: Today's Predictions for Tomorrow's Internet
- October 23-27: The Internet Wants YOU: Consider a Career in Cyber-security
- October 30-31: Protecting Critical Infrastructure from Cyber Threats
