DONLEY COUNTY, TX (KFDA) -

125 pounds of marijuana is now off the streets after a traffic violation led to a drug bust in Donley County.

Around 5:20 yesterday afternoon, a DPS trooper stopped a 2017 Chevrolet Impala traveling east on U.S. 287 near Clarendon for a traffic violation.

A DPS canine unit was called to the scene and alerted officials to drugs in the car. Officials say the trooper then discovered six large, vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana hidden inside the car.

Officials say the marijuana is worth about $758,000.

The driver, 29-year-old Thinh Nguyen of Florida was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. He was then booked into the Donley County Jail.

Officials believe the drugs were being transported from Las Vegas to Dallas.
