AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Amarillo Police Department invites you to participate in the National Night Out event this week.
National Night Out is a program through the National Association of Town Watch that benefits all neighborhood watch programs, anyone looking to start one or those who just want to get to know their neighbors.
The annual community building campaign promotes police-community partnerships to make our neighborhoods safer places to live.
You can participate this Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Wheeler County Sheriff's Office is also participating in this year's National Night Out.
There will be K-9 demonstrations, free food and prizes to give away.
Residents are invited to participate Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wheeler County Extension Office.
The Dimmitt Police Department would like to invite you to their 2017 National Night Out.
Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 3, there will be food, music, bouncy house, face painting and more on the Courthouse lawn.
Residents are invited to come out and have fun with local first responders.
The City of Clovis will have their National Night Out on Saturday, Oct. 7.
From 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., residents can meet at Green Acres Park for food, live music, games and more.
The Clovis Police Department wants to help build and keep neighborhood spirit while sending a message of community involvement and organization.
The Curry County Wellness Council's Annual Fall Health Fair will join first responders at this event offering services and providing information.

The Parmer County Sheriff's Office will host their National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
There will be a salsa making contest at 6:30 p.m. across the street from the Sheriff's Office at 300 4th Street in Farwell.
Walmart will also provide low-cost vaccinations as well.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office invites you to their first ever National Night Out even in Memphis.
On Tuesday, Oct. 3, The Hall County Sheriff's Office National Night Out will be held at the Hall County Courthouse located on the square.
There will be free food, games and prizes, and first responders will be on hand to discuss safety tips with the community and show off equipment used on a daily basis.
