AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A man is now in custody for the robbery of an Amarillo convenience store earlier this month.
Victor Manuel Huerta, 39, has been identified as the suspect in the CEFCO robbery that happened on Sept. 3, and a warrant has been issued for the robbery charges.
Around 6:15 that morning, officers were called to a robbery of the CEFCO convenience store located at 5000 I-40 East. An employee told officers that the suspect came into the store armed with a small, silver handgun.
Police say he then demanded money and left the store on foot.
Investigators determined that Huerta was already in custody at the Randall County Jail on a misdemeanor charge, and the jail has been notified of the robbery warrant.
Huerta remains in custody at the Randall County Jail.
